Thank You

Hi all--

I can't believe it's been just over a year since Kent passed away. It's been a challenging year for sure, but one that's been filled with love and support from friends and family.

Our family is tremendously thankful to all who donated to the Kent Walker Foundation. The foundation raised closed to 2,000 dollars-- an incredible amount! That money was used toward medical bills and service fees.

A special thanks goes out to Amy Grover Horton and Reny Tyson for taking the time to start the Kent Walker foundation. It's a wonderful way to honor him.

Also, I know that there were many who wished they could have attended his service. Below are a few words I spoke about Kent. I hope that those who knew him will agree and those who didn't are inspired by his journey.

Love,

Sarah Walker

Kent Sterling Walker

The following is a quote from Aristotle.

“The beauty of the soul shines out when a man bears with composure one heavy mischance after another, not because he doesn't feel them, but because he is a man of high and heroic temper.”

Kent Walker never greeted anyone, whether a stranger or friend, without a smile. His smile, filled with only joy and love, was a smile that truly belonged to an angel.

Despite facing many physical challenges, he always found ways to be excited about life. He loved cheering for the Florida Gators and was always very happy when his girlfriend, Carrie Underwood came out with a new song. He refused to allow his battle with Muscular Dystrophy bring him down. Complaining was not going to be his style. He preferred to laugh. And he did, loudly and often.

I believe my brother could spend his days laughing because he knew how much he was loved. He flourished under the care and devotion my parents gave him. I think we all should be so lucky to have parents who are as self sacrificing and loving as mine.

Over the past few days, so many have reached out to our family to let us know how much Kent meant to them. Family members, friends, nurses, former teachers, and even those who only had a chance to meet Kent once will never forget the special light he brought into this world.

\My brother Kent lived his life with dignity and courage. May we all continue to carry his light for the rest of our time here.

Thank you.

The Kent Walker Foundation - Welcome!

Recently, a close family from central Florida lost their son to a life long fight with Muscular Dystrophy. Despite being diagnosed at birth, neither the son nor the family gave up fighting. His family dedicated their entire lives to his care and now they are in need of some help of their own. Please consider contributing any amount as even small donations will make a big difference to this family's life. During this difficult period, money should be the last thing on their mind. Even in these trying times, let's show them a small portion of the love they've been giving for so long.

We will post a paypal link in a few short days to accept your generous donations.  Please email kentwalkerfoundation@gmail.com for inquires regarding the funeral service, making donations before the link is ready, or any other questions you may have.

It is our hope that we will continue our fundraising efforts to help those families that give so much of themselves to their loved ones.

Please help us in achieving our goal
